Love

Love Defined.

What is love?

Love is more than a feeling

Love is more than an emotion

Love is more than a person on your mind

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

‘Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.’

Love involves action

Love is sacrificial

Love is putting other’s needs before your own

Love is helping a friend

Love is giving food to the homeless

Love is praying for the person who hurt you

Love is selfless, not selfish

Love is holy, not broken

Love values you

Love treats you with kindness

Love sees all your downfalls and chooses to stay

Love doesn’t walk away when things get hard

Love is a sacrifice

Love is a baby in a manger

Love is Jesus on the cross

God is love.

1 John 4:10

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

1 John 4:16

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

Psalm 36:7

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 117:2

For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.

Love is many things but without Christ, love is nothing. Remember, God Himself is love! This Christmas, let’s not forget the loving sacrifice God gave us by sending His Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice so that we can live as His children. Let  that love shine through you!

I want to ask you to seek your heart and see where you’re holding back love. I challenge you this Christmas to face that and give that little bit of extra love out to someone who may need it. We’ve all faced a lot this year, a little love and kindness can go a long way.

God bless, and Merry Christmas!!
