Often we find ourselves in a time in our lives that feels really unsatisfying. During this time it’s easy to feel like God has abandoned us… especially when all we see in sermons and podcasts is people’s lives being completely transformed in HUGE ways by God and the church and then we compare it to our lives where it seems nothing is really happening. And it may not be that bad things are happening in your life, but you just feel like you’re coasting through a mundane routine everyday and making no real progress. Well, I’m here to tell you that if that’s how you see your life right now you are wrong because God uses us and blesses us in those times, even when we can’t see the results and the reason why God has put us in that position.
There have been times when I feel like my life is really boring and nothing ever really happens, but once I get out of that season of my life, when I look back I can see God developing aspects of my lifestyle and personality to become closer to Him.
‘Faithfully serving the season always produces success’
When you are feeling like your life isn’t going anywhere and that you’re lost within your identity in Christ, I encourage you to keep reading the word and reaching into your faith to strengthen it. Last year, I was in a job that I really didn’t enjoy and I felt so discouraged to put any effort into it. But now, since leaving that job, looking back I can see where God has developed my patience and my passion for people and I now know I wouldn’t be where I am in my faith today if it wasn’t for that job and time in my life.
Wherever you are in your life, whatever season you are in, serve it faithfully with all your might and it will produce success. You may not see it during the season, but I am sure you will find yourself looking back to that part of your life 6 months on and acknowledging how God was developing and helping you. Remember…everything happens for a reason, when you stay faithful to him he will bring you success and a sense of fulfilment that is impossible in a life without him. Faithfully serve the season and you will always produce success in your faith and growth in Christ.
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help themhebrews 6:10 [NIV]
Live through everything with faith and God will prevail through you.
