FAQ
Answers to common questions about ESC programs — bookings, levels, coaching, accommodation, gear, and travel logistics.
Booking & Payments
How do I book a trip?
Pick a camp on our Trips page and choose your dates. Pay a 50% deposit to hold your place, or pay in full. The balance is charged automatically 60 days before departure, and we email you a week before. Booking inside 60 days? You pay in full at checkout.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard and Amex cards, for deposits and full payments. Paying in full? You can also pay by PayNow and get an extra 1% off.
What's the cancellation policy?
It depends on when you cancel and how you paid. Cancel within 3 days of booking and you can get everything you paid back as ESC credit. If ESC cancels a trip, you get everything back. Every step is on our Cancellation Policy page. Travel insurance that covers snow sports is required, and it's what protects you closer to the trip.
Can I transfer my booking to someone else?
Yes, up to 14 days before departure, subject to the replacement meeting trip level requirements.
Why is the amount on my card statement slightly different from what I saw at checkout?
We display prices in your selected currency using our daily exchange rate. At the moment of payment, Stripe and your bank apply their own live exchange rate, which can drift 1–2% from the figure on our site. The trip total you confirmed is what you're booked for — the small difference is the currency conversion layer, outside our control.
Trips & Experience
What's included in the trip price?
Every camp page lists exactly what's included and what isn't. Coaching is always included. Accommodation, lift passes, gear rental and transfers depend on the camp and the package you choose, so check the camp's "What's included" section before you book. Every camp also comes with a free SnowProtect Kit: panda guards and wrist guards.
How big are the groups?
Lessons are grouped by level, so you ride with people at your standard. Progression camps run at 1 coach to 4 riders. Specialist skill camps (carving, groundtricks, freestyle) run at 1 coach to 6–8 riders. Free Your Ride runs at 1 coach or guide to 8 riders. Tinyturns kids' groups are 1 coach to 4.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Lots of riders come on their own. You ride with a crew at your level, and every camp has its own group chat so you can say hi before you fly.
What if it's my first time snowboarding?
Start with Zero to Five, our camp for complete beginners. Not sure which camp fits? Take the level quiz or see our riding levels.
Gear & Preparation
Do I need my own gear?
Some camps include board, boots and bindings, and some offer them as an add-on. Each camp page says which, and you can always bring your own. A helmet is required for every rider: bring your own or rent one. On Bonski camps in Guangzhou, helmet rental is included in the package. Every camp comes with a free SnowProtect Kit: panda guards and wrist guards.
What should I pack?
We send a detailed packing list after booking. Essentials: snow jacket, pants, goggles, gloves, base layers, and warm socks.
How fit do I need to be?
Moderate fitness is helpful. We recommend a 4-week prep routine focusing on squats, core work, and cardio.
Travel & Logistics
Do you book flights for me?
No, but we provide detailed flight recommendations, preferred airlines, and timing guidance for your departure city.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes. Travel insurance that covers snow sports is required for every rider, kids included. Make sure it covers medical treatment and evacuation. Free Your Ride riders need a plan that also covers guided off-piste riding. Not sure your policy is enough? Use the free cover check on our SnowSafety page.
How do I get from the airport to the resort?
It depends on the camp. Hakuba camps meet at Nagano Station, and the camp page shows how to get there from the airport. Bonski camps in Guangzhou don't include transfers. Check "Getting there" on each camp page.
