Happy New year you lovely lot! I hope its a fabulous, refreshing and God filled year!

So I was in church a couple Sunday’s ago and I had heard a teaching based around Matthew 4 verse 35-41 and it was all around Jesus calming the winds and waves when the disciples were worried they were going to drown the first thing they did was run to Jesus.

35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Although the disciples trusted Jesus and knew that He would keep them safe and secure they still had a huge overwhelming fear that it might not end up well for them and they end up drowning. The disciples like us had worries, fear pouring out of them and so much doubt of what was going to happen. They saw the fear before they saw the protector of the boat and that is often like our own lives. We see so many negative things either in the media or in the every day, that we let ourselves get swallowed up by that and forget to just be still and let God take control.

We often think our fears are bigger than Gods love but that is not the case at all. God is our number one protector who would never let anything happen that is not in His plan. 2022 is the year that we should be still and allow for God to be in control of our fears. It’s the year we should refresh our minds to what is important. Which is Him.

I pray you all have a lovely year and remember to be still and wait on God. Hear what He has to say. And remember; just because something isn’t happening right now doesn’t mean it will never happen.

Love to you all.
