Be vulnerable.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. – 1 Peter 5:7 [NIV]

Everyone struggles. So why do we all pretend that we’ve got it all together?

We’re scared of rejection. Scared that if people knew the whole truth about what we’re going through or what we’ve been through they’ll turn their backs on us and be horrified by it all. We’re frighted that if we let it out… we’ll never hear the end of it. That because we let it out, everyone will know, and everyone will hate us for it. We’re worried what people will think of us and how they’ll treat us after they know.

All of this. This fear and anxiety… that’s the enemy. That’s his way of trying to stop you from letting it out. That’s his way of trying to stop you from focusing on other things like having fun, stepping out in faith and being free, but trying to make you focus on the thing thats being kept inside.

Whatever struggle you’re going through, or whatever you’ve been through, it’s nothing that God can’t take away from you. He knows you and He knows your heart. He knows what you go through and He knows how it effects you. He’s loves you regardless of the things you’ve done and the struggles you face. He wants you to be free.

Something that takes a lot of guts and can sometimes be seen as a bad thing is vulnerability. Being vulnerable about your struggles is a way of letting go and moving on. It’s hard to do but it’s completely worth it in the end. God puts certain people in our lives. People we can trust. Go to those people or that one person. Take a deep breath and let it go. The hardest step is beginning to tell your story. Once the beginning’s out, the rest will begin to come.

Sharing your story of struggle, whatever that struggle is, a condition, a feeling, or a physical thing thats happened… will be hard… but it will also be completely worth it. Find that person that will listen to you and pray for you through the situation. When you become vulnerable to them, they may become vulnerable to you.

Let go of this struggle. Give it to God.
